Page to Markdown for AI – Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Page to Markdown for AI ("the extension") is published by Kominike Digital. This policy explains what data the extension handles.
Summary
The extension converts web pages to Markdown on your own computer. We never receive the pages you read or your browsing history. There are no analytics and no tracking. To enforce the free daily limit, the extension sends an anonymous counter request to our server, described below.
Data processed on your device
- Page content: When you click the extension icon, it reads the HTML of the current page (and, if you choose "Selection", your selected text) to convert it to Markdown. With the Pro "All tabs" option, it reads the open tabs of the current window. This happens locally in your browser. The content is never sent to us or to anyone else.
- Settings and usage counter: Your chosen format, header option, custom instruction and the number of free copies used today are stored locally with Chrome storage.
- License status: If you activate Pro, the license key, its activation id and the e-mail address returned by the payment provider are stored locally so Pro stays active.
Free daily limit (our server)
Free users can copy 20 times per day. To make this limit work across reinstalls, each copy sends a short request to https://www.extensions.kominikee.com/api/p2md/usage.php containing:
- a random install ID created by the extension (not linked to your name, e-mail or Google account), and
- the extension version.
Our server also sees your IP address, as with any web request. We do not store IP addresses or install IDs in readable form: both are combined with a secret that changes every day and stored only as one-way hashes, together with the number of copies made that day. These daily counters are deleted after two days. No page content, URLs or titles are ever sent. Pro users do not send these requests.
Data sent to third parties
- Lemon Squeezy (payment provider): When you buy Pro, the purchase is handled on Lemon Squeezy's checkout page under their privacy policy (https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy). When you click Activate, and about once a week afterwards, the extension sends your license key and activation id to the Lemon Squeezy License API to confirm the license is valid. No page content or browsing data is included.
Nothing else is sent anywhere, and no data is sold or shared for advertising.
Permissions
| Permission | Why it is needed | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|
| activeTab | Read the current page after you click the icon or use the shortcut | Does not access other tabs or run in the background |
| scripting | Run a small script on the active page to get its HTML and your selection | Does not change the page or inject ads |
| storage | Save settings, the daily counter, a random install ID and license status in Chrome storage | Does not store page content |
| api.lemonsqueezy.com (optional) | Verify a Pro license key when you activate it | Does not send page content or history |
| All sites (optional, Pro) | Read the open tabs of the current window when you choose "All tabs" | Is never used unless you choose this option; content stays on your device |
Removing your data
Uninstalling the extension deletes all locally stored data. Server-side daily counters contain no readable identifiers and are deleted automatically after two days. Use "Pro license" in the extension to deactivate your key in a browser.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
