MapAudit – Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
MapAudit ("the extension") is published by Kominike Digital. This policy explains what data the extension handles.
Summary
MapAudit reads business information that is publicly shown on the Google Maps page you have open, only when you click a button in its panel. That information stays in your browser until you export it. We do not receive it, store it or sell it. There are no analytics and no tracking.
Data processed on your device
- Business information on Google Maps: When you click Audit, Collect results, Deep scan or Export, the extension reads the business details visible on the page (such as name, category, rating, number of reviews, address, phone number, website, opening hours, coordinates and the Maps link). This is processed locally to calculate the audit score and to create your CSV file.
- Settings and report branding: Your agency name, contact text, accent colour and logo are stored in Chrome storage on your device.
- Usage counter and install ID: The number of free audits and exports used today and a random install ID are stored in Chrome storage.
- License status: If you activate Pro, the license key, its activation ID and the e-mail address returned by the payment provider are stored locally.
Data sent to our server (free plan only)
To enforce the daily free limits, each audit or export by a free user sends a request to https://www.extensions.kominikee.com/api/mapaudit/usage.php containing the random install ID, the action type (audit or export) and the extension version. Our server also sees your IP address, as with any web request. IP addresses and install IDs are never stored in readable form: they are combined with a secret that changes every day and stored only as one-way hashes together with the count for that day. These counters are deleted after two days. No business data, search terms or page content is ever sent. Pro users do not send these requests.
Data sent to third parties
- Lemon Squeezy (payment provider): Purchases and subscriptions are handled on Lemon Squeezy's checkout under their privacy policy (https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy). When you activate Pro, and every few days afterwards, the extension sends your license key and activation ID to the Lemon Squeezy License API to confirm the subscription is active.
Nothing else is sent anywhere, and no data is sold or shared for advertising.
Permissions
| Permission | Why it is needed | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|
| Access to Google Maps pages | Read business information on the Maps page when you use the panel | Does not run on other websites or change Google Maps content |
| storage | Save settings, branding, the daily counter, a random install ID and license status | Does not store your browsing history |
| api.lemonsqueezy.com (optional) | Verify a Pro license key | Does not send business data or browsing data |
Your responsibilities
CSV files you export may contain business contact details. Use them in line with the laws that apply to you, including anti-spam and data protection rules (for example GDPR and KVKK).
Removing your data
Uninstalling the extension deletes all locally stored data. Use "Remove license from this browser" in the extension to deactivate your key on a device.
